When you see someone in need, it is natural to want to reach out and help them. That’s the way human beings are designed.

But not everyone can or should be helped by you. Because it will do more damage than good - either to yourself or to the person. 

This week, Olawunmi examines the fine line between encouragement (inspiring someone to productive action) and enablement (helping someone to persist in negative or self-destructive behaviour) using the story of a bible character whose decision and courage to withhold help from one man ended up saving her city and many lives from being destroyed.
